MARRIED at First Sight star Amy Christophers has revealed some secrets from behind the scenes of the hit E4 show.

They include rules on alcohol during the explosive weekly dinner parties and a daily takeaway budget.

Amy Christophers - who starred on the latest UK series - told The Sun that the couples boozed heavily while filming for the dinner parties.

"There wasn't really a cap on it," claims Amy.

"They tried to stop us getting too smashed, but we were all quite strong willed.

"Some of us snuck it in our bags to drink at the commitment ceremonies because we weren't allowed it there.

"But we got found out and the securty guards started to search our bags before we left the apartments.

"We were a nightmare to try and control. I actually feel bad for production. We were a total nightmare and hated having our freedom taken away."

A spokesman for Married at First Sight disputes there ever being "unlimited" alcohol on set.

They said: “Alcohol intake was monitored across the shoot, which took place during the course of a single evening, and producers prioritised the contributor’s safety and wellbeing at all times.”

All of the series' stars are given £50 a day to spend on takeaways.

And it meant many of the brides and grooms were ordering from Deliveroo and Uber Eats three times a day.

Amy revealed: "I tried to pick takeaways that were as healthy as possible, but it was the days of the dinner parties and commitment ceremonies that took its toll.

"We would be in our rooms away from the other couples and they would be supplied with so many sweets and snacks and chocolates and fizzy drinks.

"I never really had a sweet tooth prior to MAFS but I ate them all, all day long out of boredom sat around.

"There are some foods I never want to see again after Married At First Sight!"

Despite being given a three-course meal at the weekly dinner parties where couples reunited, the long filming schedules meant late-night snacks.

At around 2am, there would be a pizza delivery for stars who may still have room for even more to eat.

Amy says that on top of a £50 allowance for takeaways, stars were given a £100 weekly shopping budget from Asda.

"I actually bought food and did cook for Josh occasionally, but then we realised everyone else was using their supermarket budget for booze.

"So we ended up doing the same..."

There was a gym in our building, but it was always booked up because Covid meant only one person could train at a tume.

"Adam would always go super early in the morning, and Marilyse and Franky would do circuits and run up and down the stairs of all floors to train.

"I did a bit of yoga out on our roof terrace and tried to fit it into my morning ritual to keep me sane.

"I'd say we all put on up to a stone during the experiment. We ate so much and all felt gross at the end."

Since leaving the experiment, former glamour model has designed her own earrings collection with Red Ruby Rouge.

She told The Sun: "I am obsessed with earrings and have always wanted to create statement earrings that make women feel beautiful, are comfortable and good quality. This really is a dream come true for me!!

"These earrings are made from 925 sterling silver making them sustainable, something very important to me!

"These showstoppers can be worn day to night & would make an excellent statement at that Xmas party or NYE too! Or Xmas present for your bestie or wife.
