The Queen is set to be buried wearing two sentimental pieces of jewellery a wedding band and pearl earrings

Queen Elizabeth II is set to be buried on 19 September at 11am -royals from across Europe are set to be there as well as US president, Joe Biden with his wife, Jill.

The Queen had one of the most impressive and expensive collections of jewels in the world estimated to be worth $3.48 billion dollars according to Tatlerasia.

Her collection consisted of 300 pieces and included 98 brooches, 34 pairs of earrings and 15 rings.

The jewels go back to 1837, when Queen Victoria, the Queen’s great-great-grandmother was Queen.

Head of communications at the Natural Diamond Council, Lisa Levinson told Metro it is “unlikely” that the British monarch will be dressed in heavy and lavish jewellery in her coffin.

She explained that Her Majesty will be laid to rest wearing her “simple” Welsh gold wedding band and a “pair of pearl earrings.”

This is unlike Queen Victoria who on her deathbed, chose stacks of bracelets, layers of necklaces and rings for each finger for her burial.

Lisa also discussed her royal engagement ring that was passed to the Queen from a tiara owned by late-husband Prince Philip’s mother Alice of Battenberg. The ring is more than likely to be given to her daughter Princess Anne.

The ring is embedded with diamonds and is told to be one of the most valuable royal rings of all time, according to her family.

“Her Majesty is an incredibly humble woman at heart who is unlikely to be dressed in anything but her simple Welsh gold wedding band to rest and a pair of pearl earrings,” Lisa said.

Lisa discusses Queen Elizabeth’s history throughout her reign saying it “has always been about the legacy of the royal family, in the UK and Commonwealth” and that tradition of humility will continue into her burial.

The Queen’s private collection is now set to be stored in the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace.

The priceless collection including the official Crown Jewels will be stored in the Tower of London.

The Crown Jewels include St. Edward’s Sovereign’s and the most famous piece, The Imperial State Crown which the Queen wears each year at the State Opening of Parliament.

It will also include her favourite Brazilian Aquamarine brooch that was gifted to her from the government of Brazil in 1958 and a matching aquamarine necklace that was gifted in 1953 for her Coronation.
