On Saturday, Aug. 27, Kay Cameron Jewelers held a Princess Anna (from “Frozen”) piercing event. Longtime employee, Giovanna, was dressed to perfection as the spunky sister of Queen Elsa, to help the young soon-to-be jewelry lovers deal with the initial anxiety of the first ear piercing.
Over two-dozen young women, almost all under the age of 10, came in for their first piercing with Princess Anna. The majority chose 3-millimeter cubic zirconia, a perennial favorite, according to owner, Trish Tom.
“They give a princess sparkle,” said Tom.
The second most-picked starter earring is a pink-toned one.
Generally, it is advised that new ear piercings stay put for six to eight weeks before changing, but Tom recommends anyone under the age of 2 keep them in for as long as possible.
For those who have already gotten dreamy-eyed over having a collection of earrings, Kay Cameron Jewelers offers a sizeable offering of Tiny Tips, hypoallergenic studs made of surgical steel-grade metal, that is sensitive enough even for people with allergies to gold or nickel.
“We have been part of the community for decades and have been delighted to be the first place where young people get to fall in love with jewelry,” said Tom, adding, “That’s why it’s so important to us to have the wide, diverse, and high-quality pieces we carry, so you can continue to grow your collection through every phase of your fashionable life.”
In spring 2023, there will be another princess gracing the store.
